The Power of Gratitude

I just started reading the book by Rhonda Byrne called The Magic. It is an amazing book all about the power of gratitude and how it can really bring you to the next level in your life. One of the suggestions that it has that has been really helpful for me is walking up every morning and listing 10 things that I am grateful for and why. It has really forced me to notice the wealth that I have in my life and appreciate all of the blessings that I have. It continues to refresh and invigorate the start of my day and begins my day on a positive note.

Gratitude can change our whole outlook on life. When we realize that we have been blessed rather than feel a sense of entitlement we find power and energy to continue to find true success. When we feel gratitude for even the difficult times in our life we are no longer drained and depressed about them, but can find power and enrichment because they have grown us into who we are. The key there is that we must be confident in who we have become.

Gratitude also opens doors that would not be otherwise open to us. People are much more willing to share and help other people who are grateful for the opportunities that they can provide. The ability to be grateful can catapult you into the hearts and minds of the people around you, who will in turn be willing to pass you opportunities that become available.

The ability to find gratitude in life can change everything from stress levels and health to relationships and job opportunities. The only thing it costs is for you to be willing to lose your pride and live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.

So, who are you grateful for?

  1. I am grateful for all of the opportunties that have opened up for me since I lost my well-paying job two years ago and decided to follow my heart as an entrepreneur. I give full credit to my daily practice of gratitude that has gotten me through some very difficult times - emotionally, financially, etc. It's not easy to be downsized (especially via a group conference call with 11 others that got canned at the same time.) I am happier than I have ever been, and good things continue to come my way. Thanks for sharing the benefits of gratefulness with others!
