The Famous Rio Tarcoles Where The Crocodiles Live

There is a bridge over the Rio Tarcoles just north of Jaco on the way back to San Jose where all the crocodiles come together to sun themselves. I was able to see this magnificent sight on my first trip to Costa Rica. Many people pull over to the side of the road and get out and take pictures. The crocodiles are huge and scary, but also beautiful. I would estimate that the largest I saw might have weighted about 800 lbs and looked like a dinosaur. It is always great to see animals in their natural environment and Costa Rica is a great place to experience just that.
