Travel Rant: On the Importance of Gratitude

One of the greatest benefits that I have found in traveling outside the United States is that I have really been able to see how people live in other countries. It is true that we are very priveledged here in the States. The amazing thing that you notice is not only do these people have very little, they are happy about what they do have. It is astounding. We get upset when we can't have our $5 coffee in the morning. They are lucky if they have $5 to eat for the day. There zest for life is intoxicating. I love the Costa Rican mindset if Pura Vida, living the pure life.
