The World’s Most Bio-Intense Area Hides in Drake Bay

I already mentioned in a previous post about my experience snorkeling off the coast of Corcovado Nation Park, this is the body of water that is there at Corcavado, it is called Drake Bay. It is an amazing place. it is where the brackish water of the mangrove forest meets the ocean. The waves are violent and the wildlife thrives. While I was there the guy at my hotel mentioned that he lived on the mainland of Drake Bay and many people die each year from the capsized boats going out into the ocean from the brackish water. He told me a story that he was heading home and his boat could not get out into the ocean because the waves were too violent, so he had to walk two hours through the rainforest to get home. This is unspoiled Costa Rica. Check out this great article about it.
